Who it's for

  • Professionals whose companies run on Gmail and Google Docs and who waste time searching between inboxes and Drive. Just ask instead of searching.
  • Teams that frequently hold Google Meet calls. Notes and summaries are automatically saved to your Calendar and Docs.
  • Anyone who needs to draft presentation slides quickly. It turns doc content into slides and even generates images.

Drawbacks

  • Accessing company data requires a paid Workspace plan. It covers a different scope than the free personal Gemini.
  • If the administrator disables the feature, individual users cannot turn it on. Adoption depends on organizational decisions.
  • AI assistance inside Google Sheets is still basic compared to Docs and Gmail.

Getting started

  1. Check with your admin to confirm Gemini is enabled on your work account.
  2. In Google Docs, ask it: "Summarize these meeting notes into one page and make an action item list."
  3. Open a long email thread in Gmail, click the summarize button to catch up, and get a drafted reply.
  4. Ask Gemini chat, "Find the performance report from last quarter," to locate files in Drive.
  5. Turn on recording in a Google Meet call, then review the summary automatically saved to Docs afterward.
