Who it's for

  • People struggling to keep up with meetings or classes conducted in English. Text builds up on the screen in real time as people speak, letting you quickly catch what you missed.
  • Professionals joining Zoom or Google Meet calls with global teams. Once the meeting ends, a summary and action items are organized and emailed to you.
  • International students taking English lectures. You can create class transcripts within the free 300 minutes per month and search them later by keywords.

Drawbacks

  • It does not support Korean transcription. For Korean meetings, it is better to use CLOVA Note or daglo.
  • The free plan cuts off each meeting at 30 minutes. In a one-hour meeting, the entire second half is missed.
  • Because a bot joins the meeting, you must inform external attendees and obtain recording consent.

Getting started

  1. Sign up on the official website and connect your Google or Microsoft Calendar.
  2. Enable Otter to automatically join video calls on your calendar. You can turn this off for specific meetings.
  3. Keep the live transcript screen open during the meeting and highlight key moments.
  4. After the meeting ends, check the summary and action items, or search for keywords like "action item."
  5. Download the transcript as DOCX or SRT to share or use as subtitles.
