Who it's for

  • Anyone who needs languages less supported by Korean translators, like Vietnamese, Thai, or Arabic. Supports over 100 languages.
  • Anyone traveling abroad who wants to translate signs with a camera or use real-time voice translation. Offline language packs are also available.
  • Anyone who wants to translate entire foreign web pages. Built right into Chrome.

Drawbacks

  • Papago or DeepL often delivers more natural results for Korean↔English and Korean↔Japanese.
  • You cannot specify tone or formality, and long sentences can sometimes get distorted awkwardly.
  • Input text may be used to improve services, so it is safer not to enter sensitive documents.

Getting started

  1. Open the official website or app. You can use it right away without logging in.
  2. Paste or speak the original text to see the translation. The language is detected automatically.
  3. Tap the camera icon in the app and point it at a sign to see the translation overlaid on the screen.
  4. Upload Word or PDF files in the 'Documents' tab to get translated files.
  5. Download language packs in the app before traveling to translate even without an internet connection.
