Who it's for
- Office workers who cannot upload company documents to external AI services. AnythingLLM reads documents and answers questions entirely on your PC.
- Graduate students wanting to gather dozens of papers or lecture slides in one place to search and ask questions. You can add entire folders and organize by workspace.
- Users who installed Ollama but find command-line interfaces unfamiliar. Manage models and documents together through an interface with Korean menus.
Drawbacks
- Local models can be slow depending on your PC hardware, and smaller models may produce awkward Korean responses.
- Enabling web search sends queries to external search engines. Keep it turned off when handling sensitive questions.
- With many settings available, it takes time initially to learn concepts like models, embeddings, and workspaces.
Getting started
- Download and install the setup file for your operating system from the official website.
- Choose a model on the welcome screen. Download a built-in model or connect to Ollama.
- Create a new workspace and name it.
- Drag and drop PDF or document files, then wait for processing to complete.
- Enter your question. Example: "Summarize only the termination conditions and penalty clauses from this contract."
